A rate isn't 'lower' if it doesn't provide the same coverage. If you don't need the coverage, talk to your own insurer first to get their quote for reduced coverage.

I'm inclined to think that link should go. It does not seem to pass muster as a personal recommendation. I'd suggest leaving the text but eliminating the active link.

My wife and I are in the process of purchasing a used 2009 Holiday Rambler Presidential 36 RLS. Now were starting to search for insurance. We don't have a clue on which company or what options we should ask for. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

have had Geico on toad and RV for over 1 year now and just added my POS work van, have RV full coverage and minimum on work van and toad, pay $110 for all 3 each month and that is with one speeding/seatbelt ticket and being a 26 yr old male. They were the greatest insurance company i've ever worked with (im an insurance adjuster). 2 days from day i called about hail damage to RV, no questions asked just showed up on MY schedule, looked it all over, asked a few questions about the RV and cut me a check. Stupid commercials but i would suggest them to anyone! or you could go on RV roadtrips with "FLO" LOL

My Geico insurance was due for renewal on my vehicles. I took the Declarations page and went shopping. Nobody could beat the rate I was getting. And it has not increased in the 3 years I've had them.

So when I went to the Hershey RV show and knowing Geico would be there, I took my Declaration page from my RV insurance. Their first comment was that they cannot provide the full coach replacement cost that I have on my RV policy (1st 5 years replacement 5er equal to what I have; 2nd 5 years I get original purchase price). Also, as was stated earlier, the RV was only covered when moving.

As a fulltimer, I need my rig covered all the time so Geico is out.

Regarding the fact that the RV is only covered when moving may not be correct. We have Geico, and thay tried to tell us the same thing. Speak to a specialist (when on the phone ask for a supervisor) You can get policies at Geico that will meet your criteria. Geico will even do umbrella policies.

Good Luck,
Bill

Thanks guys! We appreciate your inputs. After talking with I believe six different insurance companies we ended getting full timer insurance through Progressive. They ended up making us the best deal with the coverages that we wanted. Tomorrow they will be delivering our fifth wheel and be able to get out of this apartment and start having some fun!!!!!
