Post General VRLA/AGM battery information

There have been many conversations here related to the different battery types, AGM/VRLA/Starting/deep cycle/so on/ so forth...

While investigating work requirements I discovered a very good page from one of the manufacturers of AGM batteries that contains a lot of information that may not apply here directly, but other information that does.

Most of these batteries are intended for UPS or float applications.

However we can convert to our application by understanding what our needs are and how to convert the terms and specifications on the sheets to ours.

Example is the sheets may be explaining application in a 48 volt system where we have 12 volt, we simply divide voltage by 4 for voltage, and use the current levels we need.

This link is specific to the PDF relating to using an AGM/VRLA battery in a starting application, it explains some of the data points and how they are determined.

This link is to the parent location, it contains manual for batteries, instructions for the care and feeding of the different ones as well as explaining how the charging and discharging is done.

So these are mainly specific to float service or UPS service, but after one converts the voltages and application to RV levels then one can better understand what the data sheet is stating and apply it to our needs.

The data sheets get to actual chemical reactions for those who care, a ton of good reading.
