Cool Generator spark plug gap

I have a 07 Bounder 36Z w/ onan 5500 marquis gold generator. Look up gap setting manual says .025 old plugs were set at .035 and new ones came preset at .035. Talked w/ rep. from onan parts and they said leave them at the factory setting. Anyone have any experience w/ this Thanks Bill

How did it run on the old plugs at .035"? .025" is an pretty small gap for modern plugs. I'd leave them at the factory setting unless you experienced problems with the .035"

Smile Spark plug gap

Has run good in the past. This last outing could only get 3.5 hrs at most. Have replace plugs, air filter, did oil change, and fuel filter. Have it running now to see how things go. Thanks

Onan specifies the gap, not the spark plug manufacturer. Many Onan engines are to be .025"
