Are you looking for a portable or for a generator that is permanently mounted? If permanently mounted, do you need gas, diesel, or LP?

The Honda EU series generators are probably the quietest and most efficient, but they aren't cheap. Figure about double the price of those cheap "contractor" generators you see in the big home stores.

I agree on the EUs we got a 2000 last year on sale at CW for $799.00 If I ever need to run my AC I will need 1 more with the connector cable.
One of the folks we camp with has a Yamaha that runs his AC, but not even 1/2 as quiet.

Just got back in the house from shutting my EU2000i down after a good workout running the heater in the camper for a bit...it is quiet, light, and easy to maintain.

I was looking for a portable. I heard that the Honda series were the most quiet. I will have to look into them. Thanks for the help.
