Oh.. and forgot to mention. The Honda will run about 11-12 hours on 1 gal of gas,
when used lightly for charging, tv and fans. The Champion, not quite as good, only 10 hours. I never measured the gas tank size??

An interesting read on sound, it appears that both of the seemingly conflicting posts above are correct.

That article conflicts itself.

I've got a HF Predator 3500 inverter running my entire house right now, of course no 220. Purring like a kitten, plus it's quiet. Hard to beat. Hope power company can get things back soon, so far power has been off for about 5 hours....and it's cold outside!

It all depends on what you end game is for a generator, Honda (which is all I’ll ever own) vrs HF Predator. I have friends that own the Predator and they run great and are quite, the difference is quality, the Predator is pretty much a throw away when they fail, the Honda is a life time investment (IMO) my 3000 Honda has to have thousands of hours on it with normal maintenance.
So my opinion is if you want a low cost quite generator get a Predator, if you want a long life never buy another one quite generator, buy a Honda.
*** just my opinion

Quiet. It’s quiet.

But it is quite a bit more costly than the others.

I have the Predator 3500 from Harbor Freight. 300 trouble free hours. They make smaller 2200 watt models too. These are chinese Honda knock offs that are a great bargain. People that knock Harbor Freight haven't been inside one in awhile. They have really stepped up their game.

And stepped up their prices. The biggest problem with HF is trying to get parts. Took me 6 months to get a part for my two month old miter saw. It was one of the higher priced ones and still warranty.
They couldn't replace it. None is stock anywhere.

I see many guys at the drag races running the Predator units and they swear by them with one condition, BUY THE WARRANTY. If anything happens, go to any Harbor Freight and they will replace the unit. Very few have had issues but it does happen.

The guys I have talked to say they more than get their money's worth out of them and when they do finally give up, they just go get another one. They tend to put a lot of hours on them at the track because NO HOOK UPS! They run their campers the entire events off the generators (some events are 4 days long)

Stabil or other gas treatment is your friend with any of these little gas units, but I would buy one (I offered to buy one for my Daughter and SIL for their 30' TT) in a minute.

As far as availability, with the storms moving through the country right now and power outages, YES it might be tough to find one right now, but they will be available soon enough.

At zero load, shutting it off makes more sense.
Where do you find that? Spec sheet doesn't mention it. They say 59db at "running"

I had the Predator 3500 and it was great. I even found a way to install it on a slide tray in place of the OEM genset on our Class C. I installed extra cooling fans and could use it while traveling when needed. We sold it with the MH.
With that said,
I think I would just go ahead and get the 2200 Honda. It's proven and I like the fact that it has a little fuel pump. This makes adding extra tank for extended use easy if I remember right. They all work great until they don't..... just sayin'

Anybody found a small portable not made in China other than Yamaha?
