Gone for a month

When we first bought our Winny we traveled for two years - a lot of the Midwest then headed west and parked in NM for another year. The winds of travel again wiped up resting us finally in the San Diego area.

While these winds have settle now for about 11 years, I feel them kicking up a bit. So, this is the plan (?): We are anticipating leaving San Diego late July or - latest - Aug.1st. We will have about one month (depending on how the finances hold out) and have several possible stops along the way.

We know that August is a VERY dense travel month to be on the road competing with the families last trip before school begins, the typical vacationers, and foreigner here for the summer. But, this is the only feasible time based on my occupation - still a working stiff.

My DW reflects back on our best trips "No planning at all. Just pack our two puppies and pick a direction." I will agree, they have been some of our positively most memorable trips.

But, some of the possible stops are:
1. California Red Woods
2. Cruz Hwy 1 / 101 up into Oregon / Washington Waterfall Park (not actually the name but rather what they have lots of)
3. Yellowstone - we want to see Yogi!
4. Yosemite
5. Etc.

With plenty of planning time ahead, I just though I'd put it our there and listen to suggestions from other who have ventured there areas.

Well, I'd say you have plenty of choices. You guys have an amazing backyard. We zig-zagged across California last summer and visited Redwoods, Lassen Volcanic, Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Sequoia, Death Valley and Joshua Tree NPs...no matter that you choose, how can you go wrong? Have a great trip. Bob
