I'm a lifetime member of Good Sam, a member of FMCA, Passport America, and KOA. I just enjoyed attending the FMCA rally in Perry, GA, stayed five nights after that at Good Sam parks in North Carolina & Alabama and have used PA enough in the last year to more than cover the dues. In my particular situation, KOA as been the least profitable. I have stayed at some very convenient and nice PA parks - Gulf Coast (I-10) in Beaumont, TX and Lakeside (I-12) in Livingston, LA to name a couple.

In March Affinity Group made Moody's list of companies most likely to file bankruptcy. Maybe lifetime mimbership not such a good deal. who's lifetime? see link http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:...&ct=clnk&gl=us

My loss in them would be a lot less than some of the others in which I lost money.

Gary, that is an excellent idea re: using codes and offering something special if they mention the code... I'm thinking maybe a welcome gift (chocolates maybe?... carrot cake cupcakes?). Ideas, anyone?

Also good info on financial stability of these companies, believe it or not I hadn't thought about that...

Cannot vouch for them. I sent them a check for 3yr and they seem to have 'lost' the check. Got an e-mail from them saying I had not paid since Jan 08. Sent them a 'copy' of the canceled check two weeks ago and have not heard from them since, so I don't know if they even acknowledged that ?? Don't seem to be very good to me JMHO

FMCA does give discounts at many campgrounds. 10% on some, even 15% on a few. When you say "get all the campgrounds," Good Sam doesn't get all campgrounds either, though they may have more then FMCA. Check the list of discount CG's in the back of the January issue of the FMCA magazine.
