Good Sam Emergency Assistance
Anyone ever use the emergency + insurance from Good Sam? I ask because I must sign up and pay before I get to read the complete description of the plan. I feel they should be more open with the coverage details. It seems like a good deal on the surface but, one never knows as the devil is in the details (fine print).
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Are you referring to the Emergency Road Service (ERS) or their insurance offering (which is through GMAC)? Or both?
I used their ERS many years ago but switched to Coach-Net, which I felt offered more services for the same money. This year, however, I switched back to Good Sam when I got a special offer of a year for only $59.95 (compared to the $109 I would have paid otherwise).
I thought the plans were adequately explained on the web iste - http://www.goodsamers.com/ - but I agree there might be some fine print. In the internet age, they should have a copy of the service contract available online.

If you're talking about the Emergency + Plan if you get sick on the road, we had it the year we went to AK. Thankfully, we didn't need it.
What I didn't like was my credit card got charged a mystery charge from AIG. THE AIG I assume. After some research, I determined they were automatically renewing my coverage. When I complained, they said I had agreed to that when I signed on. Being a little anal, I had saved a copy of what I sent in and no mention was made about automatic renewal. Now there is.
We haven't renewed since, but the plan seems good, though I don't know about AIG anymore.....

We switched from AAA to Good Sam this year. AAA had some reimbursement areas and Good Sam was pay all the way for roadside assit.
Have not uesed yet, but some folks ,we camp with. had a flat tire while at Disney in Florida, good sam dispatched was fast and job well done for tire change.
We were all very impressed with this single incident.

Come on now Dave, since the bailout, you are part owner in AIG. ---Well in a roundabout way, maybe, sorta,.......well you know.

We have AIG insurance on the house and vehicles. Next time the premium comes due, maybe I'll just write a check to myself!
Actually, I'd worry less about AIG failing than just about any other company in the United States. The government has already declared it "too big to fail" and will keep pouring money into AIG as fast as they can print it!
