The likely reason Flying J offers larger discounts to truck fleet operators than to RVs is they are much more interested in attracting the trucker to their place of business. Truckers not only buy more fuel per visit than the average RV, they likely spend much more money on other items as well. Truck stops have large parking areas for trucks to overnight because they know truckers have federally mandated layovers. They want those truckers in their parking lots because they will spend money on food, truck related supplies and all the other things Flying J stocks. RVers, not so much. Truck drivers are Flying J's target market, RVs are tolerated. Different prices and levels of service for different classes of customers is common throughout all businesses.

BTW, got to love all the dancing around TSD is apparently engaged in. First it was a complaint by Good Sam, now it is an unnamed employee no longer with Flying J who approved a discount contract without knowing it was in conflict with other contracts. Eventually the truth is going to come out which is TSD tried to expand their customer base by adding RVs without getting permission from any of the fuel providers, likely thinking no one would notice or care. They miscalculated, and if the survey being sent out is any indication, the other major fuel providers might be following Flying J.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you. Todays truck drivers are simply that, they’re “drivers!” Years ago drivers WERE professional. [mod edit]

Can you at least explain what is “unprofessional “ and what is “racist” in his comments?

Is he a professional contributor?

Are those he spoke about of a particular race?

The post may have been considered rude but certainly not unprofessional or racist.

To attack an entire group of working class folks (truckers) and state they are predominately from other countries.

I am not a trucker but I respect them for the job they are trying to do without cars, motorcycles and RV trying to get in their way. Keep in mind we are using Truck Stops, they are not using RV stops.

As for price - TSD has a web page that list all the current day prices of all the truck stop that give discounts

I and a lot of others - set up one account for TSD to pull from "nothing else uses that account, so it limits the risk" - I have $20 sitting in it all the time. When I use the card, I move the money that night and normally they pull it in 2 business days.

Have had it setup for almost 11 mts and had no issues. You just have to determine what you are OK with.
