Good Sam Insurance

Have Good Sam roadside membership and get a lot of hits about buying their insurance.

Have other insurance company for RV, home, car, motorcycle, atv. Same company.

I've talked to my agent because I'm concerned about what they cover for a used 1999 RV. Like, what do I get if I'm in a collision and need some major repairs? Or someone breaks in and trashes the interior?

He said it was covered but... what does that mean? I really don't trust insurance companies, too damn much "fine" print.

Would it be like the car policy? Have a claiim, they say your car is worth $2000. Here is your check for $2000, now go away and buy a replacent for $25,000.

Thanks for any info.

Ask your agent and be specfic of your concerns. Don't ask and they won't tell you.

Good Sam is essentially acting as a broker for GMAC that is the actual insurer.

I have had both my coach and car insured through them for six years or so.
I have had several claims and all have been handled satisfactorily.

Kind of the same here except we've only had one claim. Rain storm on Fresno destroyed our awning and did some damage to the paint. They recommended one shop to repair the paint and install a new awning. The shop ordered a Carefree awning to replace a Dometic unit. I refused the new awning as I refused to have any Carefree products on our rig, shop told me they didn't think they could do the work. I went to another shop, labor rate was higher but GMAC said OK anyway.
Don't have any idea why the first shop didn't go with the Dometic, I gave them all the model numbers, they measured the rig and still ordered the wrong brand, then said they didn't want to do the work when I refused the wrong awning.

Mr. D,
Sorry for hijacking this thread, what is the difference in these products? They are both very common. Just curious in case I end up in the same situation one day.
