So they send these out to 1000's but have to be prompted to send cards to actual members.
It went in the trash of course.

The trash is the best place for Good Sam. I guess if you use RV parks a lot maybe the annual fee is worth the discount. Road side service is just a matter of luck and generally that luck is bad. The weakest flip flop pickup drivers are the only ones that sign up for the service. My guess is they make more on tips than they make from Good Sam.
Self insure, make you own phone call, and get good service.

As a final straw I fueled at a Flying J a few days ago and learned that they reduced the gasoline discount for the Elite membership to 5 cents a gallon as of January 1.

In case anyone might be interested Love's is giving a 10¢ per gallon discount on gas and auto diesel until 4/30/23.
Just need to get the Love's Connect App and scan your barcode or manually enter your account number at the pump.
Details HERE

For several years I've seen the savings from these cards go from $0.03 to $0.05 to now $0.10.
Worthless! $10 savings on 100 gallons? Not worth the time any more. Not worth going out of my way to find a station that offers the discount.

Jim_HiTek, I agree. My time is worth more than chasing a few pennies just to make me think I'm actually benefiting myself.

Agree completely! Used to have their roadside assistance when we full timed. Tried using the service twice without success. Since then, we don’t carry any roadside assistance and have control of who we call if/when a problem arises.
Just like extended warranties, the only one it helps is the seller of the service.

Cards
We joined GS back in the 90’s with a lifetime membership. The old plastic cards do not work in readers. I just walk inside and give my number at the fuel stations that give the discount and at Camping World that worked the last time I made a purchase.

GS Card
I emailed GS customer service, told them about all the negativity on this forum. Got an apology email same day and a card in less than a week.
I don't understand why some folks that use diesel are so hung up on GS fuel discount - 10 cents....really?
We use TSD Open Roads. The savings is always way more than 10 cents.
Examples -Today -
Houston
T/A pump price $3.899 discount price $3.275
I-10 Louisiana
Loves pump $3.99 discount price $3.71
Clearwater FL
Speedway pump $4.26 Discount price $3.53
Granted, they have a 65 cent transaction fee and a 10% of the savings fee, but a no brainer. Open Roads also has a convenient map app with visual prices labeled on the map.

I did not read all the posts on this thread so someone else might have already stated this. You card will have a membership number. If you do not have this number, you can get it from them, either at a Good Sam campground, a Camping World store, or by calling them. That is really all you need. When making campground reservations, give them your GS / Camping World number or phone number. Same thing for purchasing anything in their store or on-line.
We have not had a card in a few years now. We just use the card number. Never had an issue with that.
Another thing, your card number will not change. It will always be the same. So, if you have an old one, you still have the number. Keep the old one. That's all you really need. When you make ANY purchase with a Good Sam commodity, their computer system will pull up your GS account and if it's expired, they'll tell you. They will also tell you how soon it expires too, and almost always ask you if you want to renew it right now. Always ... it seems, regardless of when it's actually expiring.

I asked for a new card on their website and got one in the mail about a week and a half later. This was last week.
