Handy use of motorhome!

We had a huge storm roll in yesterday evening. It dumped 6+ inches over a 45 minute period. We lost our power to the house...about 5 min. after electric went out I had hubby check to make sure the backup sump pump was working...it was not!!! The basement was filling up fast! We ran an extension cord from the sump pump to the generator on the motorhome! It saved our basement!!! Thanks to the quick thinking of my hubby!

I love our motorhome, now I love it more!!!

Here in Fl if a category 1-3 hurricane goes through you can lose power for days if not weeks. While others sweat in 95 degree heat those that have a MH and enough fuel are cool and comfortable. If a category 4 - 5 comes through we get out of Dodge with the MH. They can be a life saver.

6+ inches in 45 minutes?? If we get that much in a week half of L.A. is lost to a mud slide!

Last year in April we got 14 inches in 2 days. I owned an acre lake! But there is nowhere for the mud to slide..... I was starting to wonder if the MoHo would float? Having a MoHo is just a peace of mind thing....

Just last week we lost power for 39 hours due to a horrific storm that took down a bunch of trees. The MH genset saved our food in the fridge and my fish tanks.

You can use it for a guest house
You can use it when the spouse gets angry at ya
You can use it for personal space
You can use it in an emergency to get out of Dodge or live in
You can use it to block the neighbors view of your place
You can use it to tailgate at parties or stay in at events
You can use it for vacations
You can just live in it full time and change the view whenever you want.
What else would you want?

Oh yeah, so many uses!!! I was so happy we were able to use it to save our basement!!! What a mess that would have been!

I tell the kids (ages 15 and 18) when they are both grown and out we are selling, moving to the mh and living where ever we want. When they find us, we are putting it in drive and moving again. LOL I'm just kidding...most of the time...but the look on their face is priceless!

We use it often when we have parties! MH is usually full with people who have no business being on the road. This weekend is another huge party (our last one this season)...probably the biggest of the year! It's looking like our yard is going to look like a campground! LOL So far I know of 17 people bringing their tent! MH will be full.

I have also used the motor home's generator to run my home refrigerator after a hurricane. You end up having a lot of friends bringing over stuff.

Not due to rain, but due to the house A/C going out in mid August here in Vegas back a number of years ago when I had RV parking and a power hook-up at the house, we moved into Toyota Dolphin for three days while the warranty company looked for and found a NOS compressor for our 20 year old unit.
