Hang it up!!

Hi all; happy camping!! I would like to know if anyone out there has ever tried those "hercules" hooks for hanging pic's in the RV. A friend was raving about them, but he used them on his stick house. I would like to hang some pictures of the kid's in the RV...but wasn't sure how to make them secure....other ideas are certainly welcome!

We find velcro works very well for this.

As you can see in pic we have many pics hung on walls and doors throughout the MH. Have over the years in many RV's have use Velcro strips, hangers but found that screws are the best and they will not fall out or off as other hangers will.
You have to remember the coach bounces and vibration will soon loosen the hangers and pic will fall. Your walls will have generally 1/8" plywood and about 5/8" of foam board backing that a 1" penetration will support without causing any problems with wiring that maybe in wall.
If you trade in coach later just use a white wax crayon to hide hole in wall when filled in.

I hang all my items the traditional way but with these modifications: I use a screw instead of a nail, and I place a velcro strip at the bottom to prevent movement. I've yet to have one falll off. Even my atomic clock is hung in this manner.

I've used standard picture hanging hooks. But what I did was hung it then bent the tab in so that the wire couldn't come back out of it. To keep it from moving, I applied several pieces of double sided thick tape.

Its kept my "God Bless Our Camper" plate hanging quite still on the wall for quite some time and I've been down some fairly washboard roads.

We took the ugly uniform prints that came with the RV and removed them then bought multi picture photo frames and used the same hooks to hang these. Added velcro around the edges for the bumps. Now we have wonderful pics of where we travelled hanging on the walls and we can play the "remember when we....".

We have stored the ugly prints so if and when we sell they will go right back in the unit.

Thanks for all the responses....I didn't get any pic's with our unit..it;s a beginner unit no frills. I guess I'll try the screw and velcro method for now. I like the colage idea...you can show more in less room....
