I've owned this unit for better than 2 years and it works great, has excellent reviews, and at a great price.

The battery and loose screws kerfuffle are typical of build issues with HF units. I bought a larger Predator for home use and discovered too late that the battery cable was way too short to reach the battery. Didn't want to just trade it in as I had spent much time and effort installing the frustrating add-on wheel kit, so had to wait several weeks for HF to ship me a replacement cable from China. Learned my lesson there. However, as far as the actual generator performance and reliability go, we've been happy, and I would not hesitate to buy another Predator.

Dunno how much power you need, but I just picked this guy up for 699cnd.
I have about 20 something hours on it now. Fairly quiet, and does what I need it to do, including powering the A/C unit. Claims 11 hours of runtime at 25% load.

Bowtie Jim, I've had one for over 3 years and have never had a moments trouble with it. It always has started on the first pull or within a brief electric start. I paid a little less with a coupon several years ago. Great, quiet, reliable generator. The engine is a Honda clone from China and parts are available through Harbor Freight and Northern Tool should you need anything. My only negative is that it is just over 100 lbs and is a bit of a struggle getting it into or out of my pickup bed especially at my age (68). I can simultaneously run the 13,500Btu Coleman A/C, fridge and water heater plus converter load, lighting, and TV without issue. Plenty of power at half the price of similar Honda's. ..... Swampy

I had the HF 2500. It was not as quiet as the Honda. Not even close. Sold it, bought the Honda.

I was camped in a artists parking lot next to the hf 2000. We chatted alot. Everyone agreed it was not as quiet as the Honda. A HF 3500 i cannot say.

great unit

Works great. Their display is not the best (mine quit after a year). That did not affect performance. Have it hooked to fifth wheel to keep a/c running while rolling. (DW has cats that travel with us)

For the price, I'd buy three for the price of the Honda.

Works for me

Had mine for year.

Measured the db output at various loads and distances and the marketing claims hold up.

Get the extended warranty, just in case. It’s cheap but useful.

Love my Predator, problem free for 4 yrs. starts first pull when needed. Electric start is nice but time to replace my battery but no rush since it starts first pull.

I have owned one for a year now and no problems. For 700 bucks it's hard to give it a try compared to 2000 for a Honda.

I have 2 2000 watt predator generators and i use the HF parallel kit which allows me to connect my 35 amp plug directly to the power source. I went with the 2000 watt generator bc they are lighter to handle. They have worked flawlessly for me.
