Has Anyone Had an Insurance Co Pay for Frame Repair
[mod edit] has anyone had any luck getting the insurance company to pay for a frame repair? Is that a thing?

Unless there was some sort of insurable event that caused it, I don't see why they would.

Correct. Fatigue, wear and tear, defects, and such not usually covered.

Insurance covers "damage".
It generally does not cover things like, defects, wear and tear, etc.

I agree as well.
I suspect it is a Lippert frame. Common problem is cracked frames around the pin box area.

Just driving down the wonderful US interstates. Didn't really think it would be covered, but thought I'd ask.

I would agree with all post that it is normally not an insured thing. but insursurance companies sometimes see things differntly.
there was a lady on the Newel site that had a frame or sub frame crack and break, had it hauled to Newel and I believe there was damage involved in the haul too. Newel repaired it, guessing it was very expensive. Been a few years, 8 I think. but as I recall, she said her insurance paid for it. Never hurt to ask insurance.

If it is a simple break, then it isn't very expensive to get fixed. Any repair shop with a MIG welder should be able to do the work. Just a matter of disconnecting the batteries, wire brushing both pieces clean, aligning it where it belongs, and zapping it a few times with the MIG. Wire wheel and then paint.

Are you talking about an issue known as frame flex?

Yeah, but it's a little more than normal on one side.

Repairs
Known some people with this issue. They used trailer repair shops for the work. Their manufactures or Lippert did help them with the repairs.
