Just curious if rising cost in fuel and other stuff has caused anyone to modify thier planned trips or anything else?

As long as it fits within our available funds, and we aren't restricted by the current world events then NO.

If it has changed our available dollars for each lineage item we either compromise on some things by either staying longer in one place, not driving quite as far or foregoing admissions/eating out or anything we feel might not be worth it or create a good memory. The past two years due to you know what, we didn't travel anywhere in 2020 and only managed 4 off 3 night trips so far in our province this year so this has enabled us to have a reserve ready for this upcoming winter travels to compensate.

Apart from Fuel, maintenance = most easy stuff done ourselves, fishing licenses and an odd admission we find we typically don't spend much aside from needed items such as food and must have needs (cleaning/internet/cell) above and beyond that. We walk, kayak, fish and explore mainly on foot for the most part, with odd local food tastes sometimes sampled ie; Louisianna for example.

You'll find every one different based on expendable income/savings so you should get a mixed bag of responses here. As well some folks go and sit in one location for a month or more, and others like to move every few days/week exploring.

Not yet, but the first thing that gets cut is eating out. With the restrictions put in last year, we found it wasn’t missed much.

I have seen comments in the past from other people saying if you can't afford something(gas, food, site cost, maintenance, ect) then you probably can't afford to do the rv lifestyle.

I do not agree with these folks.. For us, we have been staying closer to our home. Usually within a couple hours. This minimizes fuel cost, and staying at more state parks and less KOA's.

If one can remember, fuel prices were also very high about 6 years ago. Go figure….

Not yet, but fuel prices will probably cause us to look at shorter drives. We are approaching an almost doubling of fuel prices in my area of Texas. I paid as low as $1.69 per gallon a year mid 2020, the price on the signs at some of the lower price stations was $3.09 yesterday. Haven't looked today.

(It does look like a Kroger station may be at $2.89 per GasBuddy. )

Why would it? Fuel today is still approx. $2/gallon cheaper than 2012 when we drove to Alaska.

Here's a good chart on the history of past years for fuel. It's been worse. To compensate you can take shorter trips; do less site seeing and driving around; eat in restaurants less; fewer special attractions, etc.

Exactly......

Remember 2008 and diesel was $5+
Got fuel at 3/4 tank level (down 1/4) at station that had diesel at $4.50/gal cause I thought it was a 'Deal'

Diesel is $3.39 currently

Bread/Milk etc are up....but need those regardless of S&B or RV

No. Fuel is right around the pre-covid prices. Maybe this last week is higher. We been camping for years and can rember the 2008 gas prices, which was the highest price. It was nice last year when oil producers were paying 40 dollars to get rid of Crude and at the pump it was around 1.50 per gallon, with discounts we were paying less then dollar.

Still cheaper than flying, renting a car, staying in motels/hotels, eating every meal out.

We recently did a 3 week trip, cost was about $800 for gas. Made most of our own meals or did take out. I think we ate out about 5 times, mostly for breakfast and lunch. Restaurants have gotten just too expensive. I don't like to waste money. We mostly stayed in State parks. The most expensive stay was a private park which ran us $562 for 9 nights. It was the cheapest in the area.

I don't worry much about it, we're retired, have maybe 20-25 years before we start drooling (if we're lucky). Enjoy life while we can.
