I have seen the opposite of that! A fellow that left the boat dealership with his brand new boat on the trailer and a block away he speeds away and the boat is off the trailer stuck in the road.

Dip the wheels in the Atlantic, then the Pacific! That'd be great, but maybe we should just baptize it!

We did something like that as teenager at the lake.
Backed truck towards beach between other cars and we'll away from water.
It seemed they were dumping water for farmers and water recently was where truck was so over the day it sunk until resting on the rails.
Had to walk out and came next day with large ford floor jack cables and shovels.
No towing on insurance and dad insisted my mess my dig...
Had a ticket for overnight parking to boot.
Judge just laughed as he tossed it.
Something about it being beyond my control and the fault of the folks issuing ticket for not properly controlling the area to keep folks from parking there.

LOL. I grew up in Ormond Beach and surfed at Granada approach through out my youth. I can't tell you how many times I've seen similar instances like the one above. The best was a 1965 T bird, brand new, the owner parked at low tide, left to walk up one block to a beer joint and we watched sitting upon a sand dune as the incoming tide and waves buried the new T Bird up to the antenna. (Only visible remains) Somewhere under all that sand is the same T Bird today albeit a bit worse for wear.
