He needs a truck to pull that thing!

Saw this rig at the CG where we are right now! The Smart car is painted to match the RV!

Very interesting. I believe I once saw a smart car sideways like that behind a motorhome but was unable to find any pics of that being done online.

Where did you see that rig? I saw one almost identical to that last year around Labor Day at Hershey RV Resort, but I think the tow vehicle was metallic gray. Had the Smart car, too.

Single rear axle? He needs at least a tri-axle to handle the pin weight and that smart car. This might be adequate, and its can even unloaded the Smart car.

Na, 23k rear axle is plenty. Smart is 1800lbs, pin is around 5000, truck bed is 3000.
My truck rear axle weighs 10,800 without the car or pin.
DRV seems to have balanced the large triple axle units. For a 23,000 lb unit, the pin is really light, it needs to be in the 6k range. The bigger and heavier you go, the more pin weight you need to control the load.

I'm betting he takes the truck routes through towns.

Contact Greg at Rvhaulers. He is most likely the one that built the bed and singled the Volvo....

I saw a rig like that last year at Rafter J Bar ranch, it looks like a great idea at the time.

I will post mine on here after Easter. Soon as some time off I'll mount stops and load Smart. Take pics. Most comfortable and safest way to tow a heavy camper

Those HDTs (Class 8, Heavy Duty Trucks) are sweet! For anyone interested, there are two HDT Rallies. In April, the Spring Rally is in Crossville, TN and, in October, the National HDT Rally is in Hutchinson, KS. Every couple of years, a group will host a smaller western rally in NV or CA. GREAT group of folks and, ALL are welcome at the HDT Raallies. If you're thinking about "graduating" from a LGT (Little Girly Truck like an F-450), you should attend a HDT Rally. You'll be glad you did!

Actually it is no wider than a dually. Height is less than lots of campers. So anyone towing needs to take truck routes
