Headed to MasterTech in Elkhart
Hi all. Bought a "new" used Class A and headed to MasterTech in 2 weeks for some mods and renovations. I have heard that they do great work but not to be surprised when the final bill runs higher than quoted. Anyone else have experience with these guys? We are only 2 hours away and took a car ride out to meet them; pretty impressive what they can do. They take a lot of older units and make them look new.

Lots getting done! This weekend have a local professional diesel mechanic adding Stage 3 suspension upgrades (steering stabilizer, front and rear anti sway bars, new shocks). I upgraded all TVs to larger smart TVs. We had new slide awnings and Winegard WiFi antenna installed at purchase.
From MasterTech at a minimum: Lifetime roof, LED headlights, new Captain's chairs, LED lighting throughout, MCD shades up front (has them throughout but old curtain up front, it's old and gross), possibly a tankless water heater as well. Thoughts on that one appreciated! Also, thinking about underbody lighting. I always thought that was a bit over the top but after driving at night and realizing that you can't see ANYTHING back there, I think it would be a great safety enhancement.
After we finish with MasterTech, will be headed to R&P Restorations 12 miles up the road for a little body work, detail, maybe a clearcoat. Right next door to him is Coach Supply Direct. Wife and I really liked the owner; small mom & pop type shop. Going to get him to install a Karndean laminate floor, new carpet on the few small carpeted areas, and a fireplace. Was going to let MasterTech do it all but decided to let the small shop have some business as well, plenty of work to go around plus his shop rate is a bit lower. Will post before and after pics but you all may have to show me how to do that
Finally, new upholstery in January, local mom and pop on that one. They have 39 years experience and do amazing work. I have all that crappy peeling fake leather currently, will be going with Ultraleather. We are super stoked!!!

Use SEARCH here on IRV2. Some people have issues with the tankless heater; especially for boondocking. However, they are very popular in European residences. I may be wrong, but I tend to think they are a cost reduction for RV manufacturers, foisted on the public as the "latest new thing". Let any others offer their opinions or experiences, and you may find the correct answer for your use

Why not get a detailed quotation and specify that no additional changes unless granted by you in writing. A friend had $1,500+ overcharges, but his quotation was open ended.
