Headlights not switching to bright.

Drove our 2107 Tiffin Phaeton for the first time near dark, and at first I didn’t think my headlights were working at all. But they appear to be on dim all the time.

The Bright/Dim switch does nothing and the Bright stays illuminated all the time. I’m pretty sure they are on dim though because they do not seem very bright.

Looked for a fuse, but could not find one. There maybe a relay on the back of the breaker panel?

Bad Bright/Dim switch? Bad relay (if there is one)?

Many thanks!!!

Grounds and/or fogged lens.

Thanks, but the lenses are not fogged. Is there a relay behind the breaker panel?

Look for a bad or loose ground wire coming from the lights. If they lose the ground, the bulbs run in series, at 1/2 volts.

Start at the lights and follow the harness. There should be a chassis ground coming off It, to a bolt into steel.

I found the chassis fuse box, but to not see a relay or breaker for headlights.

Trying to trace ground wires, but haven’t found anything loose yet.

Are you sure the "bright / dim" switch isn't referring to the instrument panel lighting? Check the turn signal lever to see if pulling it toward or away from you doesn't control the high and low beam lights.

LETMGROW wins the prize! I wasn’t pulling on the turn signal hard enough!

Mystery solved! Thanks!

Still not sure what the Bright/Dim switch does. Doesn’t seem to affect the dash lights either and cannot change it to dim. Oh well, the headlights were the concern.

Thanks again!
