Found this on a Ford site.
It is a subsidiary of DURA Automotive Products, and if the name sounds familiar - go check what make your water heater, leveling jacks, furnace, etc... are on your RV.
YEAH! THAT Atwood....
The parent corporation has filed a chapter 11, and some of the details are here:
http://www.rvtradedigest.com/online/...&siteSection=1
As of my most recent word from the warrantee person at SCRV, we were not allowed to persue warrantee claims on any Atwood product lines.
I'll follow this as it comes out, Atwood has been around way too long to go belly up now.

Good info, thanks. It looks like only the automotive divisions are affected. It says all its other divisions (which include ATTWOOD) are NOT affected, But who really knows?
This is from the link below on DURA's home web site:

That's not quite accurate. It says only that operations outside the US & Canada are not affected. Atwood is a USA-based operation.
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> DURA Automotive's U.S. and Canadian operations filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code on October 30, 2006. DURA's European and other operations outside of the U.S. and Canada are not part of the filing. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
But even if Dura itself went under, Atwood would likely be sold off as a separate operating unit and there would surely be several suitors for it. Dura bought Atwood as part of Excel back in 1999 and could easily sell it the same way. In fact, I would not be surprised if they did so to get funds to help in the recovery of their core business, which is automotive industry components.

After spending my entire career in the auto industry, I believe they would be better off in the RV parts/component supply business.
It's ugly for every auto supplier right now.
