Heater use while driving?
Old question I'm sure
Is it ok to drive and have house heater on?

Yes, plenty of folks do that.

Yes, its fine...I'm assuming you mean the propane furnace.

Yes definitely, I had a Thor and they could not fix my in dash heater. ( Three Thor Dealers ) I ran the house furnace till I had a local mechanic fix it.

I have a 5th wheel and in COLD temps I turn furnace ON ....nice and toasty when setting up
I have in bed generator with receptacle on front on 5vr that I plug into and run the 5vr A/C Unit in HOT temps ...nice and cool when setting up
RVs are 'self-contained' and appliances can be operated while in transit

Yes, we do it all the time. We want the rolling house warm when we get in to it at the end of our drive.

We also run our house A/C off the generator while driving. This makes a big difference in comfort and you won't have a large heat load to overcome once you're parked. The reduction in mileage is insignificant relative to the increase in comfort.

We will run the heat strip/AC on occasions, not only for comfort when we settle, but also to exercise our generator.

We always figure that sitting still in a HIGH wind isn’t really any different that driving 60-65 MPH in a still wind.

Running a propane heater or AquaHot is the only way to keep your wet bay warm in freezing weather. I always giggle a little when people talk about using their heat pumps when it gets cold; heat pumps don’t work below 40-45 outside air, and that is just getting pretty chilly to us, not cold. We travel in shoulder seasons and high elevations plus a trip south in the winter, so freezing temps are not uncommon. Good old fashioned propane furnace is very effective and safe.
