Help! I need someone that lives just north of Chicago

I've been lurking around this and another Rv forum for the past few months and decided to finally join. I have been looking and looking for a Class A Pusher and finally found one I want to purchase there is just one problem.

It's north of Chicago and I live in Arkansas! I am hoping that there is someone that lives near McHenry Illinois a town about 45 min north of Chicago that can view the coach prior to me spending the money to fly there. I would be more than happy to pay someone for their help, it's just that the RV is being sold by an individual rather than a dealership so I'm not 100% comfortable until i know for certain that the coach is legit.

Please help if you can!

Thanks
John

There are companies all over that will go and inspect the coach for you. They provide a report and photos. Have never used one, but do a search on the internet.

Hi,

I live pretty close to McHenry, and I would be happy to go look at it for you.

I would not claim to be an expert. I have never owned (or even been in) a class A, but I have had a class C and currently have a class B. I am now in the process of buying a 27' 5er.

I wouldn't think of charging you for looking at it, but if you do end up coming out, I'll let you buy me lunch.

BTW, McHenry is more like 90 minutes from Chicago, or 2+ hours at some times of day. If you do end up flying in, I usually use Mitchel (Milwaukee) instead of Ohare.

Joel, thanks so much! I'll pm you my phone number once seller confirms he will be able to meet with you.

About what the first poster said, does anyone have experience with an inspection company in that area?

Thanks
John

I'm sure Joel is sincere and has the best of intentions, but an inspection of
a DP from a person that has never even been in one, is probably not a good
idea. I have a gas class A and would have no idea where to look for problems
on a DP drive train. For the amount of money you are about to spend, pay a
little more and hire a professional inspector, that way you will get a good
idea of whether or not to buy this rig.
But buy Joel lunch anyway, his is an extremely kind offer....
IMHO

X2, you can still have Joel check it out but, I would not drop any many until a good inspection is done. Good on Joel for hooking you up!
