Holiday RV "LIKE"/General RV "not so much"

I'd like to give Holiday Hour RV, out of Cortland, Il, a “LIKE” with two thumbs up. With the closing of the doors at Excel (Peterson Industries), the replacement of a defective awning fell in my lap (issue was created by Excel and not covered under standard warranty). Thanks to Rick at Holiday Hour, I received a substantial discount on a replacement from Dometic. General RV, who I approached originally for assistance, was geared up only to sell me an awning at full cost and then charge me their normal shop rate to install it. They even told me they didn't have an 800 # or any contacts at Dometic.

If you're ever in the western burbs of Chicago and need assistance, call Rick. He'll give you the time, even if he doesn't have any.

Ive used many dealers near chicago. Holiday hour seemed way high on the prices of their new and used rv's, can't comment on their service. General gave me a decent deal on my rv I purchased from them but service was HORRIBLE! Ended up taking it back to the factory because they claimed fleetwood would not cover my issues. When I spoke to fleetwood, General had never even tried to make a warranty claim. Fleetwood handled all my issues, no questions asked. Have had great luck with Sunny island rv in rockford for service as well as camping world in island lake.
