I think it is due to the UV sunlight. Also to note, I have had worse results with the blue rv water hoses with them getting brittle faster than the white ones.

The reason I think it is the UV sunlight damage is that I purchased two hoses last time (a couple of years ago and in case I needed more length), and the one I have had in use during that time is less flexible and less supple feeling compared to the other one which has been stored in the storage bay out of the sunlight. ~CA

One other thought, the best RV hoses I have found are the white ones that are rated for high pressure. They seem to be better made and last longer.

The chemicals that make the hose flexible bleed out into the water the more it is used. UV will make the outside brittle by doing the same thing on the outside! From my understanding chlorine is used in the manufacturing of plastics and uv and water both leech it out.

Good point, the hoses were exposed to lots of sunlight. The oldest hoses won't bend at all, while the youngest at about two years old bends only with kinking. I guess they're simply expendable.

Zero g hoses are life fwiw. Several years cooking in the desert out here and all of mine are flawless. Wrap em around your arm like an extension cord and done. They are worth the $$. No more fighting with regular old hoses that don’t want to go in the bag.

I loved Zero G hoses until I didn't - after blowing the female connector off. No, the pressure was never beyond 50-60 psig regulator setting. If you look at many on line reviews you will see that this is a 'normal' failure of these hoses. I just wish that there was a DIY fix. That lifetime warranty - useless. You need to pack the failed hose up and return to the manufacturer at your expense which is not too far off the cost of a new hose at the current USPSUPS shipping rates.

As far as a conventional potable water hose, 2 - 3 years and off to Walmart or AMAZON for a new one/ The kink free ones - aren't

I had a zero G hose that only lasted 3 or so months. Hose just came off the end. I gave up on that brand.

I switched to a Flex H2O hose from Sam's Club. No issues. Just send to be better quality. Always flexible, and 75' fits on my 50' reel.

Only a 5 year warranty, but for fresh water replacing periodically seems to masks sense.

The Zero G has a 5-year warranty!

Zero G has changed the way the male and female ends are manufactured. Just bought two for the house last week. it is all we use with the RV.

I have a grey Zero-G hose for general use, tank washing etc. Although I've had it four years it still imparts a nasty water-hose taste to the water that's not found in the white hoses. Supposedly the same inner tube is used in the grey hoses as the blue ones.
