Hot Water Heater

I have not gotten hot water to any faucets or shower to my 2014 Sport Coach 360DL for 2 years. Last year General RV said the valves were set wrong. With the valves set according to general rv, still no hot water. Any one with an idea please let me know. The water in the hot water tank is hot.

The most common problem (after the valve position) is a stuck check valve at the heated water exit from the tank. Hard water deposits cake around the valve and it ceases to work. If in the closed position at the time, no hot water can get out.

It may sound ridiculous but check the outside shower head is turned off. If it's on the hot and cold water will mix and no hot water.

Please explain what you mean by 'no hot water to any faucets/showers for 2 years'?


When you turn on a faucet hotside......
*Does any water flow?
*If YES....is water COLD or luke warm?


Cold would mean water is flowing from Cold Plumbing lines and BYPASSING hot water heater into Hot Plumbing lines.
That would mean the Water Heater BYPASS Valve is OPEN

Cold Water IN thru WH Tank bottom line/fitting....OPEN
BYPASS connects cold line to hot line........CLOSED
Hot Water OUT from WH Tank top line/fitting....OPEN (if you have a shutoff valve....otherwise the check valve in hot out fitting should allow flow out of tank)




Luke warm.
That means cold and hot from water heater are mixing
Could be check valve in WH Tank Hot out is faulty OR a shower is allowing the mixing
Shower (inside/outside) NOT being closed via hot/cold knobs and just using the button/lever on shower handle allows the shower faucet to acr as a mixing chamber....close the hot/cold valves


NO water flow thru hot lines.......
WH Tank hot out shutoff vlave still closed (if you have one)

OR the WH Tank Hot out check valve in the top fitting has failed and no water can flow out of WH Tank

Mixing valve on backside of WH TANK has failed.
Cold in mixes with HOT-HOT out providing 130*F water into hot plumbing
Hot into mixing valve is clogged so only Cold water flows thru mixing valve into hot plumbing lines

What is your exact problem...no hot, just cold or luke warm?
How many valves do you have on backside of water heater tank?
