Been driving all day, ac is crap in the RV so I have been in a sweat box all day. I turned the hot water heater on and it says pilot is out. I am not sure how to light it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Here are helpful pics maybe.

That tells you it not lighting. Under the outside cover is a rubber cover with 2 round spots that look like buttons. They are the high temp reset. One for 120 volt and one for 12 volt. Push them and see if that starts it.

There is NO pilot flame....only flame that ignites is the MAIN Flame

When switch is turned ON....do you hear a 'click, click, click' ??
Do you see electrode sparking?

Got to have sparking before flame can light off

DC Voltage comes from on/off switch to a junction box on backside of water heater tank

From junction box to the set of t-stat (under that Push To Reset Cover)
Right side is for the propane...Top T-stat (Hi Temp) has a manual reset button
DC goes to the top t-stat then down connecting wire to bottom t-stat

This is dual sets of t-stats (120VAC for electric and 12VDC for propane)
NOTE....burnt thru wire on the 120VAC. Similar could be your issue with the 12VDC

From t-stats to circuit board....backside of water heater tank OR mounted close by
From circuit board....high voltage to spark electrode and 12V DC to gas valve solenoids (BOTH have to work for gas valve to open)---DC on solenoids for only 6-8 seconds while spark electrode is firing.

12VDC wiring.....using a voltmeter follow the DC circuit from switch to gas valve

I don't know if you tried, but often when they don't light, you may need to turn the heater switch on and off several times, before it lights. Sometimes it takes a while to get gas to the unit, basically timing out before it can light.

The confusion comes with the manufacture using a " Pilot Out " switch, while there is no pilot flame.

Not sure if it same problem, but last night when I got to campsite mine would not light. Took the cover off (part witn instructions) and found a piece of rust had covered the burner. Took the shop vac and sucked and blew a good bit of loose rust from the chamber. Lit fine after that.

I’m sorry I thought my reply went thru. It did auto light. Thank you all for your help. Things are not going well at all in this first trip. Doing a new post about it.

Hang in there. Things will get better. They always do. Ask questions and be patient for answer's. These guys have helped so many people through the "worst TV day" in some people's lives.
