How are you using your RV during the holidays?

Do your holiday plans involve your RV? How does your RV help give you a happy holiday season?

This isn't exactly the holidays, but...

We park the MH at the mall for Black Friday shopping. We take turns standing in line, rotating to the MH for warming up, hot beverages and potty breaks. It's also a good place to store the loot while shopping continues.

On the actual holidays, we use the MH fridge to store drinks, cold dishes and extra ice, and we've been known to use the stove when all the house burners are in use.

For Thanksgiving, we are going to Baltimore MD. The end of the year, we are getting out of NY and going South, either Pensacola FL or Virginia Beach VA.

The week before Thanksgiving is DW's Birthday.
We will be in La. with kids, grand-kids and great grandchild for that week and Thanksgiving.

I want I want to be home for Christmas, as we basically did not have one last year due to DW's open heart surgery.

The kids want us there for Christmas.

I plan to be back in La. Jan or Feb depending on appointments.

Then some other outings in the South.

Our daughter in law discovered a very aggressive form of cancer in her breast about two months ago. She was terrified, of course; what about the kids, how are we going to handle this? Our son has just started his own business so they were in dire straits. they called to see if we cold help.

She has had to endure a full mastectomy and is beginning 20 weeks of chemo and eight more of radiation.

We moved our MH over to their home, installed 50 amp electrical, a method of handling waste and getting propane, cancelled our winter plans south and will be here during the coming holidays and it may just be the best holiday season yet. Helping others.

We use ours for a holiday guest overflow room and an occasional jaunt to the coast or nearby mountains if weather permits. I have provided a sewer port for flushing, water tap and TV cable and electrical access where it is parked next to our house. Our 5th wheel has a 36" and a 29" TV, KS bed, full shower and we have to practically pry guests out of it when the holidays are over..... Next project is a full shelter for year round protection.

Wished it did, and the only help is being to see it every time we walk out the front door and wish we were in it. But, "Anything" could happen and change it all together! Tee Hee!

Our prayers for your daughter and your family... My wife is a 25 year survivor... the "arm lift" exercises will help her arm strength; your daughter CAN beat it!!

Here's hoping you have a GREAT Holiday!!

We are planning on hitting the road the day after Christmas. At this point in time we are planning on heading to Pigeon Forge, TN making a pitstop at Ashville, VA to see Biltmore. We have 9 days to go south to warmer climate and return to PA. We would welcome any ideas with the exception of Disney World....way too crowded.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your Daughter-in-Law
and all of your family. The holidays always make illness,
hospital time seem even worse. It is great that she has
a good support system in place.

Being in north Florida we have many choices as long as we book in advance. We meet friends for Thanksgiving usually at A State Park within a few hours drive for the week then starting the 26th of December, head over to Stephen Foster Cultural State Park until the New Year for the Festival of Lights.
