I can not for the life of me understand how the CPI didn't change. I don't know what part of the country they use to figure this out, but around here everything is more expensive.
The trickle-down of the oil prices is affecting the price of all my groceries. The sale prices aren't that great, and produce, dairy, and meat are all 15-25% higher.
Heating costs are a lot higher, as is electricity.

Forbes says, "On Friday, the U.S. Labor Department reported that consumer prices, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, were unchanged last month, a surprisingly strong performance versus the 0.3% gain that had been expected. Consumer price inflation, which had been pushing relentlessly higher, saw the mildest reading in six months, in February, as the costs of energy and food moderated. The relief was expected to be short-lived, given that energy prices have resumed their upward climb."
The CPI was for Feb. Note energy and food moderated in Feb.
