How Many Types of Tank Sensors?

I owned a new TT that I had to do nothing to the tank sensors, and 2 used Winnebago MHs that I replaced the "sensors" in the black tanks. The "sensors" are just rubber well nuts with the brass threaded insert in it for the #10 screws. Nothing more than the screw grounds the light when the liquid reaches it in the tank. I buy the well nuts and stainless screws from Home Depot.
I do know that some sensors now are of the optical variety, but are there different type of "sensors" installed by other manufacturers?

These folks use radio sensors that sense the level in the tank and give a % full readout. They are used in Tiffin motorhomes among others.
