Ours is over 15 years old and i've never did any maintenance on the slideout. But,, ours is stored under a roof which no doubt helps out immensely. I've read the manual several times over and there is nothing in it about lubrication or other preventative maintenance. Have also searched online and never found anything pertaining to pm. I do listen for and visually check parts in the system before and during operation for problems.

Having said that, we have the Kwikee DigiSync system which is different from what probably the majority of other RVs have. I would bet there are some systems that require lubrication and other periodic maintenance done. For this reason, it would be good to let us know what system you have.

Not much to do. Some silicone spray on the seals is about it.

We usually sit for 1-2 months then move over the course of 2-3 days. Before the move, I will use HD Silicone spray on both sides of the slide seals. This does 2 things, 1 is to keep the seals from drying out and 2 is to lubricate the seal which allows the slide to move easier putting less stress on the slide motor and gears. I average 2 cans a year for about $6, cheap preventative maintenance.
