I've never done anything to mine in 15 years.

They squeal a bit when extending and I want that noise for safety reasons.

I'm the one outside doing the hookups while my wife is inside doing her setup stuff which includes running the rooms out.

That squeal you hear is friction between the rubber seal and side walls. Friction is bad in this case by creating extra load for the motor and gear system to overcome. Friction is also hard on the seals and will cause premature wear and possible damage. Your 15 year no maintenance result is very good, but most systems won't be so lucky.

I inspect the seals but have never treated or done any thing else to them. However, I'd sure look into doing something if they started squealing. To me, that would indicate that something was in need of some tlc. The original seals on ours are over 17 years old.

2-3 times a year. With Protectall slide seal lube, etc... and I do the gear mechanism with CRC power lube with PTFE at the same time. Works good and smells like mint

Spray gun on stream or the sock on the pole

On the bottom of my rooms I have gears and a slide plate. Those I grease on a yearly basis.

We do it every month. I have a maintenance schedule for lots of stuff on my phone in google docs.
We do the parts under the slide topper with the side almost in, as best as I can. And we do the gear thingie on the sides of the slide also.

We live in ours and move often so it’s easy to remember. We move so often, I am about to mutiny but that’s another thread.

Have not touched mine in the 18 years since I purchased the DP new in 2002. Been on the road 30+ weekends every year, stored inside when not out. Both slides seals look perfect. I did just pick up some product I saw at Walmart and will spray one of these weekends, but so far so good without any maintenance.
