Humidity concerns

Looking to see what anyone does to reduce the humidity levels in your unit while at home during the dog days of summer.
Currently 88 degrees in Pa with about 65% humidity.

We keep 4 tubs of damp rid in the trailer. Check it every couple of weeks.

I have all roof vents with covers open at all times, and if necessary I will turn on the fantastic fan and open a window up if needed. Not much else you can do during the summer in New England. Best thing to get are vent covers! I never close my vents anymore

The DampRid type products remove such a minuscule amount of water I just don't see how they are helpful in the least. Dehumidifiers will remove 30, 50 or 70 pints per day, (from 5 to 9 gallons per day) whereas DampRid can only remove what will fit in that tub, maybe 4 pints or 1/2 gallon at best? And that removal of 4 pints would be over several weeks?

I just don't get it.

Yikes!!!! That's funny. Try the sunny, hot, humid, SE S.Carolina.

I keep my RV plugged into shorepower and the A/C set at 85. Doesn't run too much and keeps the unit dried out. Did the same thing when we still had the class A. I am right there with FAST E...you need to be able to breathe water in the summer time here in NC.

Thanks for the input everyone, a dehumidifier it will be.

I don't know how you folks in the south/southeast survive these hazy hot humid days.

Sharon and I have been in every state of this beautiful country and half of wonderful Canada and everytime we travel we try and compare where we are to home. We usually end up saying "It's a very nice place to visit, but we still like home best"!

I tell myself "At least you're not in Louisiana!" I worked a contract on road repair there years ago and was extremely impressed with their humidity levels.

But yes, dehumidifier. I have a couple of classic cars in an insulated garage which would kill me by growing rust on bare metal while sheltered. Dehumidifier to the rescue.

Be careful you leave the gray tank valve open a little bit. I know of a owner who forgot to open his valve and 2 weeks later when he checked up on the RV, the floors were all wet from water overflowing from the shower area.
