I want good roads too, but raising the fuel tax is not going to solve the problem when the politicians have already stolen more money than needed to keep our roads and bridges in great shape in order to fund pet projects designed to buy more votes. Why should drivers pays twice for what they are already paying for - Oh Well that's my soap box. I just hope that we don't have to purchase and install a gps system so they can know exactly where we are, how fast or slow we are driving, where we have been and then charge us for the privilege. Talk about government going to far!
Just talked to a friend returning from mission trip to assist people in Houston, TX area a year after hurricane and he said I10 is the same all the way across the state. Sounds like most of our interstates are in disrepair.

The best section of interstate in Illinois right now is I-90 between O’Hare airport and Rockford. It is a toll road. I’m not a fan of toll roads (who is?), but I’ll give the Illinois Toll Authority credit - they did a fantastic job rebuilding it. Here’s an article discussing the possibility of the Tollway Authority taking over I-80 in Illinois.

Yeah, that's not gonna happen. I will never install a government-mandated gps mileage tracker. Just not gonna happen.

From what I have heard the state would imbed a "chip" in your license plate. No plate, no chip, no driving on public highways. Jim.

I’m going to vote that the Indiana Toll Road -I 80 was far worse than Illinois was last summer.
