I wonder if we'll see some RV industry entry

If the parts are available it may be a good time to start a new rv manufacturer.

An abandoned shopping mall might be a venue.

Yea, if you've got an extra 50 million dollars to buy the mall, then another 50 million to redesign the building(s), then whatever the tooling will cost $100 million?
Oh there is the patent research phase by lawyers to insure your design isn't violating any patent rights.
Currently all industry is experiencing a parts shortage, how would you solve that design and make each individual part?? NOPE ain't gonna happen.

Good RV repair/refit shop would be the thing to get into.

Building, no.

ThisÖ. Plenty of big names already being consumed by the likes of Thor and Winnebago. The need is in places to go and trained people to service RVís.

I've got to agree with the two guys above. The time to get into an industry is when things are going badly. Right now the parts suppliers aren't looking for new customers, the supply chain is stretched to breaking and I'm pretty sure there isn't a building in Elkhart that could accommodate a factory that isn't being used right now. Now when a couple of the weaker manufacturers get into trouble in a couple of years as they overestimated demand and get into financial trouble that may be the time. Even then you better have really, really deep pockets to compete with Thor and REV Group. Just my thoughts. I've been wrong before.

Your first statement says it all. "If parts are available." Right now complete units are sitting in parking lots waiting for furniture and air conditioning units. Larger companies like Thor have purchased suppliers to control the supply chain.
RV service is sorely needed, but you have to get parts to service RV's. A guy up the street from me had his awning wreaked in a windstorm and has been waiting 6 weeks for a new one. The mobile repair guy can't fix what he can't get parts for.
