NOW, it's 2/3 iced over!

Put your things in a cooler and time to defrost completely.

We always used a hair dryer. Don't put it too close to anything. When a little melts at the fin you can pull the ice off in big chunks. It really doesn't take too long. Dry the inside good before reloading it and you're good to go.

The fan Baraff showed/sent me info on is no longer available.
I have found EXTERIOR fans, that attach behind the exhaust grate/grill, to expedite venting.
Will these do the same?
thanx folks!

You can buy the fan kit from JC Refrigeration for $37. Mine appear about 2x larger than the posted pic. Makes a huge difference. https://jc-refrigeration.com/product...urners/page/2/

Keep the door shut as much as possible. I bought a unit off Amazon that has 2 remote battery operated temperature senders that go in the refrigerator, one in the freezer. Has a small control unit so you can read the fridge temps without opening the door. Also you can set an alarm so it will notify you if a problem comes up.
I originally bought this for a December elk hunt in the mountains here in Az. and placed the sending units near my water tanks so I would know if they were freezing. Worked well.

As others have said, know what you want before you open the door and get it quickly.
