Nobody tinkled in my cheerios....BECAUSE everyone here has enough sense (not stupid like some) to use the toilet. Then they flush it. Then it goes in the sewer. Nobody here runs it out on the lawn. DO YOU? MOMCAT

I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but in this case, it's not a hard one to figure out. Even if I was brand new to RVing, it would never occur to me that it was ok to let black holding tank water out on my yard, on the ground at my campsite, in a parking lot, or along a public roadway.

I only wish I would have some of these arguments when I was growing up. Unfortunately, dad had us clean out the barns and spread it on the fields. In the days before tractors had cabs, going with the wind was not always pleasant.

I just clear out the tanks when winterizing. If I have to use the facilities after, I flush with RV antifreeze. Never hag an issue as the tank is pretty much empty anyway. In the summer, I wait til I can find a proper dump facility. Some states have dumps at rest areas.

Ever clean out a chicken coup in the summer? Dust is so thick you can't see across the room and as a kid I was breathing it. Hauled it across a retaining wall in a wheel barrow and dumped it into a truck to be taken to the garden.
Sure it was only a 5 hour job but I wonder how much chicken excrement I would have breathed in and unintentionally swallowed (from getting stuck in my nasal passages).
A parent would be turned in today for doing that.

I've done a lot of that myself and on occasion I help a farmer neighbor out and still do it albeit I use his 8 wheeled cab tractor to haul the tank with. I wear boots while doing this and I don't spread anything onto a public highway for others to drive through which I consider a gross and inconsiderate thing to do.

Convert your rig to a composting toilet...
When you mix 1+2...it becomes sewage. It is unsanitary by any measure. A composting toilet keeps them separated. Boondocking composters routinely sprinkle the tinkle...and throw the composting solids in a waste receptacle.
If you think it’s not sewage...why not let it just mellow in the tank until your next outing. I dump and flush at the campground...and we routinely have additions on the way home. I have a sewer trap next to my rig at home...but I don’t sweat the small stuff. I usually make coffee in our coach every morning at home...so, there is wash water in the gray tank as well. It’s never been an issue. We normally go rv’ing once every month...which has been more than adequate. The only time I get a bit more aggressive with my tank cleaning chores is when I plan to change seals in a blade valve. I rinse...thoroughly drain...and will usually tilt the coach to let the opposite side of the rig become the low point. That way...when I remove the valve...nothing drips on me or the wet bay.

Don't! A lot of car drivers have issues with RV's on the road. Don't give them another reason to complain. Besides it's just gross!

I have an old 10 gallon Tote Along, I guess some people call them blue boys (because they are made of blue plastic). Has wheels on it and I can empty my black and grey tanks at home. The main opening is set up to take a standard sewer connection, and it just takes a few trips pulling it around to the front patio area where I have a 4 inch cleanout to dump it.
In fact just the other day both gray and black tanks were about half full and I'm going to head out on a trip next week, so I emptied them out. Took about a half hour. Luckily the backyard where the MH is parked is bricked in, and the side yard and front patio are brick, so it's easy to roll the tank.
I have a macerator pump that my dad bought years ago, but he never really liked using it, and I haven't even tried it.
BTW I'd NEVER pull a "Cousin Eddie". I also remember years ago the Dave Matthews Band was accused of opening their holding tanks when they were driving on a bridge over a river.

How about dumping into a tote and dragging that to the sewer hole? That's what we used local lake water & elec only camping, much more convenient than dragging the 5er to the dump site. I bought the biggest available at the time, put the handle on the PU hitch and haul away.

Never OK to let your waste drain out on the highway. Police will write you a huge ticket if they see it...and they watch for it.
If it is not all that much, you can just drain it on your own property when you get home, and live with the smelly mess :(
