U.S. Gasoline Demand Has Peaked for Good | RV Business

I thought I'd throw this article in the mix. We don't own a MH yet. Still shopping. Going to buy a DP and we are going to use it no matter what the fuel prices are. I've never seen a hearse pulling a trailer full of money so the deceseased could take it with them! Life is short, live each day as if it were your last, and TURN OFF THE DAMN TV!

Happy New Year to all!

What they will do is like they did in '07. They will raise the price up to $10/ gal for 6 months and then drop it back to $7.50/gal and everybody will think they are getting a good deal.

I have said that all along. They get us used to paying over $3/gal it will never go back to $2/gal.

Fox news found one Shell executive who said gas would be $5/gal and we suppose to take that as fact. I would like to hear from more executives to get a bigger picture of what is going on instead of one guy who is being used so that Fox can find another reason to trash Obama.

I plan on working seasonal jobs so I will be in one place for about four or five months have a month off and go to another job. I don't plan on spending a lot on gas anyway so it will not effect my plans.

$5 Dollar Gas +?

If gas goes to $5.00 how much will everything else go up? Fuel doesn't go up all by itself. Cost of tires will double, groceries will increase by at least 30-40% and on and on.
Drugs will increase accordingly also. Pray you don't need them. Electricity and taxes also will go up to make up the shortfall from less being bought. It is possible that cell phone usage might get prohibitive and some of the crazy drivers might actually see where they are going. LOL
Haven't noticed anyone talking about everything else. And by the way. There will be less MH's and TT bought and used so camp ground fees will definitely sky rocket.

Everything that breathes or consumed is tied to fuel cost!

Absolutely!

Look around your home and job - WHAT of what you see did NOT require fossil fuels to produce the raw materials, then manufacture, then transport - and THEN still require fossil fuels to operate or in some way maintain?

Precious little - rising fuel prices are only the BEGINNING of a disastrous economic slide, as pretty much ALL goods and services revolve closely around the price of fuel...

You may well be far too interested in keeping warm and food on the table to be worried about your next RV trip...

frankdamp, -some- maintain that you are not really flying unless the wings are spinning; lets get into the way back machine; does anyone else remember the cover of a long ago 'Popular Science/Mechanics' which featured a Sikorski S58T? converted to a camper, so to speak?

I thought when I kick the bucket, my kids would get the RV but a politician up in the Northeast region said that they didn't earn it so it should go to the Govt. Whats that all about?

We will decide whether to keep our coach based on our health and/or income after retirement. Joe

Hey guys! I just got this in eMail this morning. Can we subscribe to this or is it not accurate?
WHERE TO BUY AMERICAN GASOLINE.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW. READ ON

Gas rationing in the 70's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even have been good for us!

Are you aware that the Saudis are boycotting American products? In addition, they are gouging us on oil prices. Shouldn't we return the favor? Can't we take control of our own destiny and let these giant oil importers know who REALLY generates their profits, their livings? How about leaving American Dollars in America and reduce the import/export deficit?

An appealing remedy might be to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up your car you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia . Just purchase gas from companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill up my tank, I'm sending my money to people who want me, my family and my friends dead.

The following gas companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell..................................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco...................... 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil........................... 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway................ 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco.................................... 62,231,000 barrels

And CITGO oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly avows our economic destruction! (We pay Chavez's regime nearly $10 Billion per year in oil revenues!)

The U.S. currently imports 5,517,000 barrels of crude oil per day from OPEC. If you do the math (now $90.00 plus) that's over $550 million PER DAY ($200 BILLION per year!) handed over to OPEC, many of whose members are our confirmed enemies!!!!! It won't stop here - oil prices could go to $200 a barrel or higher if we keep buying their product.

Here are some large companies THAT DO NOT import Middle Eastern oil:

Sunoco............... 0 barrels
Conoco............... 0 barrels
0A Sinclair........... 0 barrels
BP / Phillips.......... 0 barrels
Hess................... 0 barrels
ARC0.................. 0 barrels
Maverick............. 0 barrels
Flying J............... 0 barrels
Valero................ 0 barrels
Kwik Fill.............. 0 barrels
Murphy Oil USA *. 0 barrels

*Sold at Wal-Mart , gas is from South Arkansas and fully USA owned and produced.
*Not only that but they give scholarships to all children in their town who finish high school and are legal US citizens..

All of this information is available from the U.S. Department of Energy and each company is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.
