Ignorant People
Adult ignorance is growing in many campgrounds. More and more adults are cutting through camp sites only because they are to lazy to go around, and in most cases, do not have any respect for their fellow campers. When I pay for a site, I do not pay to have people cutting through all the time. Read the rules people. If you can’t read, learn how to read. Give us all a break……..

Courtesy has somehow become a non-entity. Maybe people have little respect for others because they have little respect for themselves.

Yep, the camping public has less respect for their fellow campers than in the past. Cutting through sites, throwing trash, dog loose, not picking up after the pets, kids running loose and thinking you want to listen to the same loud music they choose.
It would help if the campground owners or officials would correct the bad behavior, but may are afraid of offending the people...never mind that they are offending others.

How [moderator edit] True, That's why I'm selling the S&B, after 56 years, I'm just tired of spending my time and monies to have a nice yard and gardens just to have people walking by tell me what a nice yard as they are letting there dogs use it as a toilet. Then there is the streets that I pay taxes on and people park in front of our house to go to a business across the street. Said business just added about 50 new parking spots, (yes we were here first by about 20 years.) In the Winter our streets don't get plowed and in the summer they don't get swept. Well we started calling them in to the city (non-emergency number) and we watched them get towed. Pay back is s bitch.
If its that way around the US in CG then I guess we will be boon-docking more than not.
Off Soap Box, Thank you,
Tim
Boy that felt good!!!!

Sometimes I think people consider a campground as 'public'...they paid their money and they just think it's OK to take short cuts. Most offenders will never see this thread, so polite education is probably key.

I understand the OP's rant about inconsiderate people but "read the rules"? I don't think I have ever seen such a rule in writing in any campground I have been in. Learn to be considerate but learn to read?

IMO, they are not "ignorant", which means they do not know. I think they do not care.

Humm, it's been my experience most private campgrounds/RV parks have a list of rules you are expected to follow. One of them is "do not cut through campsites".

Ignorant People
Here we go again!
Shall we solve all of the cutting thru camp, dog poo, loud music, etc?
It is a different time and folks have changed. Well enough of them to make some of us fuss.
The fix for it is where you camp.

Thank You Sir! Preach on my Good Camper! Lord knows I've doing so for years now! For the best results, just tell them as they are walking/running thru your site, "watch out for the Dog-S#@t, works every time for us!

This reminds me of a deer hunting trip several years ago. We were sitting by the camp fire one evening when all of a sudden thes 3 wheelers (before 4 wheelers) drove right through our camp fire! I mean we had a good fire going. We just looked at each other, couldn't believe it.

I suspect that the folks who reply to this thread are not the ones making that infraction, they are well informed, and those that do cut through campsites are either blissfully unaware, or just don't care.

Well I can understand two sides here. Some campgrounds I've stayed it was very difficult to determine where each site started or ended. Now those are mostly state run sites but nonetheless difficult to figure out what is a site and not. But what I do is mark my territory. I hang rope around the backside of my site to place wet towles and other stuff on. Then I spread out my things to make it difficult to just walk through. But that's just me...

I was ask to leave one park because I stretched some "Crime Scene" tape around the site I was in.
(Someone stole it during the night) (I had gotten it from a policeman friend for Halloween)
Park management did not think it was funny and ask us to leave.

Preaching to the choir, I know... I put ear plugs in last night so I could fall asleep while the dog next door yapped constantly (and I do mean constantly, not occasionally). I think the owners left the dog tied up to the (tent) site, cannot imagine they could tolerate that if they were there. As a cyclist and camper, I have learned to hate dog owners (of which I used to be one). Sorry dog owners - one bad apple spoils the whole bunch.
