Yep, that's exactly the same as mine! One more question. Do you have a way to measure the wattage it's drawing during the test with the power on "10" ?

Got your message Joe. Sorry to see you are having so much trouble. When I installed mine, I just threw a small pot on it with about a quart of water and it boiled in about 3 minutes, give or take. Since then, we have just used it without any thought to measuring it's performance. Seems to work fine. What would you like me to check?

Hi Larry! My wife likes to make large pots of soup. We bought a set of induction cookware that includes a 10" diameter 5-quart boiler that will be ideal for the soup. I tested it by putting in 2 quarts of water and setting the heat to "10" to see how long it would take to come to a full rolling boil. I can only get a full boil in about a 6" circle in the middle, no matter how long I leave it on! I used a laser thermometer to measure the temp in the bottom of the pan and it never gets above 210 degrees, and is around 195 most of the time! Also, they claim to get up to 1800 watts of power when using only one burner. I only get 1585 watts!
If you have time I would appreciate you trying this test with your cooktop, and if possible measure how many watts it's drawing. I'm getting really frustrated with these True Induction folks!

I know this doesn't solve the induction issue but ...
Although we have a single induction unit, we make soup in a 6 qt. crock pot (usually outside on the table) ... reduces moisture in the coach.

The Happy Campers are happy again!
Annette tried making a big pot of soup on the True Induction this morning and we were amazed at the results!
The cooktop is still only drawing 1585 watts on a setting of "10", but it seems that is enough after all! I think the secret is keeping a cover on the pot while it's boiling! She started out with maybe 2 quarts in it, but after adding all the ingredients ended up with the pot almost totally full, which I think is about 5 quarts. That's a LOT of vegetable soup! After letting it boil on "10" until everything was cooked to her satisfaction, she turned it down to "3" to simmer a while.
This is the cooktop that I got directly from True Induction. The original one that I bought from Amazon is still installed in the MH. That one is definitely defective since it would only draw 1350 watts on a setting of "10". Amazon won't take it back now, but True Induction e-mailed me a FedEx prepaid shipping label to return it to them and they will refund the cost back to my credit card!

That is what I answered you way back... keep a cover to boil with induction.
