Installing Samsung in Slide Out
Our Never-cold is driving us nuts and we looking to replace with a residential Samsung. We have a MSW inverter/charger and seems that is the only brand that will run well on MSW. We need to put in our slide opposite the kitchen and was wondering about the best way to anchor it. I am leary about drilling into the floor of the slide to anchor it. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum!!
Not sure as I have no idea how your slide is designed, but you may be able to adapt what is securing the poor imitation of a fridge.

Well it is on a elevated platform, nothing under the platform but carpet. Has removable hatch door covering the opening. The never-cold has flanges on the side top and bottom and it is mounted to the frame with screws in the front, not sure about the back, have not looked at it that close. Unfortunately I am not there to describe it any better. I think I would have to remove the platform and place new one on the floor of the slide.. Looking at this slide when extended I cannot have any bolt heads under there or it will cause issues, at least it looked that way to me.

What about using carriage bolts from the bottom up?

Ours is mounted by flat pieces that are screwed into the floor under the fridge and the front of the cabinet that it is mounted in. That is all that is holding ours in.

A lot of people use metal plates to "trap" the wheels and mounts. You're not going to hurt anything by screwing into the floor, as long as you don't use 4" screws. Since your coach originally had a 2 way refer, it means it has a service door on the outside and vent at the roof. If you add a plate to the rear of the refer, you can reach in the service door on the outside and drive screw(s) through the pate and into the floor.
When I installed my Samsung, I was more concerned about securing the top. The OEM roof vent for the refer, was located near the back of the refer cabinet. I mounted a tin plate to the side of the refer, with sheet metal screws, that protruded about an inch above the top of the refer. Once the new refer was installed, I went on the roof and installed an aluminum arm from the roof vent frame to the tin plate, making the installation rock solid.

How much space on the sides of the new refrigerator? Make two U-shaped pieces of metal the width of the cabinet with vertical uprights on the side, with cutouts to fit over the refrigerator feet and then bolt/screw the uprights into the cabinet sides?

Why? JC Refrigeration offers 6 year warranty on their Amish units. I don't think Samsung offers a super warranty.

I have not pulled the trigger on the purchase yet, we decided to wait unti Black Friday to see if we can save a few bucks on the fridge since our Norcold seems to be hanging in there for now. I have been reading some very bad reviews on the net RF18 models. Compressors failing or very noisy, water from evaporator filling the drawers, etc. Even heard something about a class-action lawsuit?!?!?! I know reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt....I assume they sell a lot of these an dit could be a small portion of the owners with these issue.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
I can't offer suggestions as we are still using the Norcold 1200. Just noticed that you are kinda new on IRV2 and wanted to say hello! Have fun and keep her between the ditches!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Waiting until Black Friday sounds like a good plan. Last year's BF RF18 was selling for $799.

GE counter depth
Look into a GE GEW19JG, Thats what we put in this weekend, same dimensions as the Samsung except 1/2 inch shorter. Gets far better reviews. I was leary of the Samsung as well so we got this, found a scratch and dent spl for $950. It fits perfectly.
