Here's the background of Peter B Lewis, owner of Progressive Insurance. Sounds like he needs more money

We just received our premium notice from 21st Century Insurance (ex-AIG, being purchased by Farmers) yesterday. The premium is up ~10%. I think a lot of these insurance companies have taken a bath on their investments and are turning to premiums to make up for the shortfall.

Same thing with me. I also have full replacement value. I can get a lower rate somewhere else but it is for "Fair Market Value". With the recession, I would hate to see what fair market value is.

We have National Interstate and I went to Progressive for a quote and they were about 20-25% higher and we do have FULL replacement on our RV.

Same here!!! I couldn't deal with Progressive at all, National Interstate's rates were a third of what Progressive was for the same coverage.

As far a Lazy Days goes, I wouldn't leave my policy with them if they're not willing to work for you. I would find another agent and do an AOR (Agent of record) change. I wouldn't pay Lazy Days 15% commission for doing nothing?

I also have Progressive and my renewal notice, like with all posters with Progressive, also has an increase. I'll call them next month when my premium is due and find out if I can keep the same rate as last years. I found out in this forum that if you're the original owner, Progressive will give you a discount. I haven't used this yet.

I used to have Progressive. I dropped them last year after the hige price increase. I went with National for a lower rate for the same coverage. National is creeping up with the new coach and I will most likely be changing again in July before the policy renews.

I had been checking into a new policy and Progressive wanted $118.00 more then what I am paying now. I checked with State farm and is $24.00 more, but we are thinking of going with state farm because of the personal service. I can go to the office and not wait on the phone for minutes or hours for these other company. I had been with state farm for over 20 years for car and home insurance. Maybe home insurance is going away due to state farm leaving Florida. But I am still checking into this.

I have GMAC thru Camping World and it went up about 10%. I called Farm and City and they wanted $300 more than I am paying now. They told me that I am getting a very good rate. The moral of the story as others have suggested, call and get as many quotes as you can.

Renewed my policy with Progressive - was satisfied with their explanation for the 10% increase.

Have had Progressive, on the coach, for 11 years, when I bought it new. Over those years, I have had little or no increase in premiums. One year I had a small decrease.
Go figure????

We decided to remain with State Farm. A slight increase but bearable, and the service is Great with State Farm, been with them for over 20 years and never a problem.
