Interpreting a Blue Def Code

Just curious as to whether anyone knows how to interpret the new code for Blue Def? Iím assuming this box is relatively new since it has the new code, but itíd be nice to know when it was manufactured.[ATTACH]

Unfortunately, that covers how to read the old style code.

Date Codes used to start with Letters (GA--Georgia etc)
Now they are all numbers

First 2 is facility
Next 2 is the year plus 1 (subtract 1 from the number)
Next 3 are the days left in year of mfg
Rest of numbers are order batch was made in

10...facility
22....21 (2021)
221...days left in 2021 when made (*AUG 9, 2021)
2211222.......order number

They seem to have to keep changing it around and thus more complicated.

Oh.yeah, just remembered....they actually need to - after all, who is going to buy a box of water with some urea in it if they can decipher the date and know it is old?

221 days left in the year of manufacture would indicate a May 24 date of actual manufacture, would it not? 365 - 221 = 144 (May 24)

I stated it wrong
Blue DEF uses a 'reverse' Julian Calendar

221 is number of days since beginning of the year hence Aug 9

Why in Sam hill does this have to be so user unfriendly when every can of cheap soup clearly states a use be date? Are their computers and database from 1968?

I usually get DEF from a busy truck stop but once in a while top off with a jug. Thanks for the explanations and updates.
Regards
