Inverter modification - for easy bypass - and easy change out
My inverter on my last motorhome went out
It was in a difficult position to do the wiring when installed
While it was out of service, it made life difficult to not have 120VAC
On my current rig, I have a pure sine wave unit to change out the modified sine wave unit
Again a difficult position to do the wiring
I have an idea, to both make easy bypass in the event of failure but also make wiring easy
I am going to put a twist lock on both the AC in put and output
I can do the short pig tail and twist lock on the inverter on the bench
Once the old inverter is out, I'll put a j-box with a twist lock on the coach hardwires.
Once the inverter is installed I can easily twist lock together
If the inverter fails I just bypass with the twist locks
The twist locks aren't cheap but will avoid a bad time if I have a failure
Do you see any problems with this idea?
