Well first off, if you are plugged into shorepower as you are, then the inverter is not needed as those circuits are getting power from the shorepower.

But what make/model inverter do you have?

On my Entegra, the shore power comes in through the transfer switch, to 50 amp breaker in breaker panel , then through inverters and back up to breaker panel to feed all the breakers.
So power does go through inverter, even when plugged in to shore power, but inverter remains off.

I just went through a similar situation. Get your inverter manuals out and see what the fault code means, and possible fixes.

Mine turned out to be the communication cable between remote (control panel inside) and the inverter. It had a bad end on cable that was loosing contact.
In the Entegra, that cable is like a phone cable for your house phone.

I took remote out of inside, took it down under and plugged it in inverter, using a short phone cable I bought at local hardware. It worked perfect that way, which told me I had a cable issue.

Should add that magnum requested I try that before they changed inverter.

Larry, if you are on 50AMP shore power then no you should not need to have the inverter on to get power to the fridge and microwave. In your instruction books that came with the coach there is a very good trouble shooting guide for the Magnum inverter. I that doesn't help then call Magnum, their technical support is great, as I've used them before. I had an issue with mine last year and the cure was to turn off ALL power, shore, both baster battery switch's off, etc. and then disconnect the POSITIVE cable from the Magnum unit for 15 minutes to allow for a reset of the unit. One word of caution though, when you hook the POSITIVE cable back to the unit IT WILL SPARK, just put the terminal in the lug and tighten the nut.
