So if you Old SALTS would pass on to us item you have found to be of so help pass them on, that we may not have though of. It would be of great help. Oh I have the number one item all ready packed-my whiskey!!

My best advice is to take a shakedown trip to a campground not too far from home and near a WalMart. Spend the weekend and see what you need that you don't already have. Then go get it.

We added an Oster toaster oven. We use that daily and have never used the gas oven in the motorhome.

What make, model, & year of RV? And where are you going (climate) and to what sort of campground/ hookups? Those sort of details will help folks help you.

For example, someone going to boondocks in the AZ desert in a travel trailer will have a much different packing list than the people in the 45' DP headed for a FHU "resort" in the Keys. :-). Or those crazy kids driving their class C up the mountains for a skiing week.

Let us know!

As Paul suggested, it does depend on where you are going, and what type of camping you will be doing. One constant, will be a well stocked tool box, including a digital multi-meter.

Most problems can be solved with a cell phone and VISA.

Or Amazon Prime.

I was happy to find out Amazon will ship to any address you give them.

Depends on your ability to mix match clothes, food, comfort items Joyce has this down to science we have plenty for 6-8 week trips. Our biggest luxury items are our chairs Helinox Sunsetter for me and a Helinox 2 (rocker) for Joyce.

Tools are only good for people that know how to use them and I carry many including a Scan Tool, some spare parts, fuel filter, Multimeter, comination torx wrenches, air compresser, just the things I think I might need. Specialty jobs require more knowledge or expense than I am willing to aquire.

Carry only the things you need, if you don't use something on a trip take it off the rig. It will take you sometime to figure it all out.

Good luck.

I agree take a local "shake down" trip first and see what is missing.
Also we have found a "weather radio" invaluable for warnings on storms and such.

Hello,

I have read numerous articles that say to find things that can do double duty for RV living. Do a search of those items and see if something seems reasonable to you. We use our outside grill mostly but I do bake. So I needed pans for that.

I carry collapsable suitcases in case we have a break down and need to go to a hotel. If you want a hard sider than you can store things in it.

Don't forget that you can store some things in your tow vehicle but do not exceed the weight limits for your hitch or tow system.

Your weight should also be distributed evenly from side to side and back to front of your vehicle to not exceed the weight and or unbalance and put too much weight on one side or one axel.

Weigh things you take in. Document their weight and then do a side to side calculation and front to back calculation. It you have the weight for each items written down you will not have to keep re-weighing it.. Keep that documentation for future reference.

There will be times your needs change like they said as to where you will be traveling. RV caulk, roof tape in case of a leak, thread for clothes repair, whatever your capabilities are or are not.

Keep track of what you really need. Most of all have fun. LB

I guarantee, somewhere down the road, no matter how much stuff you have with you, the tool or item you need will be at home!
