jack on hyd pump

as we bought are mh used as i was looking under it ,the hydrolic pump witch runs are jacks and slides theres a place to put handle to pump.just like to know what its for is it to get air out of lines or what any info would b great.

The system could be pumped manually in the event the motor went out on it.
