Has anyone ever thought about a "911" type of forum, for folks that may have a problem while traveling? I'm sure there would be a lot of times that someone on here would be able & willing to help out another RV'er during their travels. Just a thought, as I am currently in that position!

I am broke down in Calhoun, Ga, about 35 miles south of Chattanooga. Truck needs a new $12,000 engine & I need my 5th wheel in Pa for the holidays. Anyone interested in pulling a 40' Travel Supreme please contact me ASAP @ larryepage520@aol.com or 570-850-1273. Thank You. PS Commercial haulers are talking anywhere from $1400 to $1700 or more & I really need that towards an engine!

Won't help this gentleman but I belong to FMCA and two of the benefits are:
"Mechanic's Helper" This is indicated by a large solid dot preceding the name of the member offering this service. Members whose names are preceded by this symbol are available to advise FMCAers whose motorhomes have broken down on the road as to where in that area you can obtain good, knowledgeable motorhome service. In other words, if you motorhome brakes down, help from a fellow FMCA member who is familiar with the mechanical service in his area is only a phone call away.
"Pinch Hit Driver" This is indicated by a star preceding the name of the member offering this service. Members who, because of an emergency situation, need someone to return their coach for them should look to this listing. Keep in mind that members who live in either the coach's current location or its destination defray any costs incurred by the pinch hit driver.

TDR (Turbo Diesel Register) has a similar emergency contact book for Dodge/Cummins owners. Many of these programs are modeled after a program initiated by BMWMOA (BMW Motorcycle Owners of America) decades ago.
