Just when you think you've seen everything

Wife and I are at Gulf State Park Campground (FHU). This morning our neighbors are departing. The man dumps his tanks, disconnects his sewer hose, shoves the open end of the hose in the water connection and then proceeds to rinse it on to the grass between our sites. I was too surprised and shocked to even say anything. Just wow!

Finish dumping waste tanks, rinse sewer hose out onto ground then lay it over the picnic table to drain/dry

Had a couple do that at our campground several years back.
They had to call a mobile tire service to replace a steer tire.

Can't imagine how it went flat just sitting there.

We were weekending at a COE site on Lake Hartwell Ga last September. I saw a guy take a unique approach to stretching his waste tank capacity. After dark I saw him open his waste valve just enough to let liquid dribble out onto the ground. I was going to report him the next morning (no cell signal)but the ranger got to him first at 6am and made him leave. Someone else must have also seen it and reported him.

Yep... we've seen our share of RVers who don't give a second thought of doing things like this. Makes you wonder what their homes are like.

When we were volunteer campground hosts in Yellowstone NP, five beautiful summers there, we often saw people at the dump station slip the water hose at the dump spot into their fresh water tank fill inlet. The other water hose about thirty feet away was actually the one that should have been used for filling the fresh water tank … although we saw that hose used to rinse the stinky slinky hoses, too. The appropriate signage didn’t seem to help.

Really glad we’ve purchased all four of our motorhomes new and that we’ve never rented.

So he slipped the slinky over the site potable water spigot? That's why I started carrying a spray bottle with a bleach solution, you just never know what the people before you did.

I also watch for wet spots and dog poop in the grass or gravel, don't need to be tracking anything into the RV

In my life experience I have found that a lot of those that behave that way are just the opposite with their personal homes vehicles yards etc..

There are many folks out there who don't think about cross-contamination. If you've ever spent time working in a food establishment or processing plant you learn all about stuff you never even would have thought of.

People like that need to be beaten with a full stinky slinky.

Not only are humans evil they are disgusting animals as well.

I don't stand around complaining about stuff like that. I walk right over and depending on a situation, either educate them or ask what the h*** are they doing.
Then again depending on the situation, take pics for evidence.

One morning early I witnessed a man remove his sewer drain hose from the provided sewer hookup, add a second length of hose to it and then lay it over to drain into a creek which was immediately behind his RV. I have no idea if it was black water or gray water - and that really doesn't matter. I never figured out why someone would not take advantage of the sewer connection provided and drain into a creek.

I snapped a photo of his actions and reported him to the owner who evidently did nothing. All they cared about was collecting their money for rent.

I will say we camped in this location monthly for several years and saw the guy on other occasions. He never seemed "quite right".

Sanitation issues are not what scares me about RVing....mostly survived a whole life in a lot of less than sanitary conditions...heck many swimming areas are probably more contaminated than some of the things reported here so far.

It's the door handle to door handle driving where all sorts on the road are a bigger threat to my health. Some Rvers included.
