Magnum,
Your solution is good and what we do though we are not generally in the 20's. I leave about 10" out to wrap around pressure regulator and tape temp sensor on spigot. Also insulate them.
I also fill FW tank and turn water off and release pressure for night and turn on pump.
We will be in 30-20's the next couple nights. Paul

Owner of the rv park gave all of us a notice to insulate his water pipe (350 unhappy campers) If not you Will be evicted after the due date. My question why should we do your maintenance!
